Conflicting reports surrounding Lil Tay's death -- has she really passed away?

BNO News reported on X to have received an email from Lil Tay's former manager, Harry Tsang , in which he stated that he hasn't been able to confirm Lil Tay's death .

Earlier on Wednesday, the 14-year-old rapper's family announced that she and her brother Jason (21) had passed away without stating any cause of death.

In the post, the parents claimed that her death was sudden and that the "outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock" . They also said that their death was being investigated.

Lil Tay , whose real name is Claire Hope , is a controversial social media influencer who started getting famous when she was 9 years old after appearing in videos where she flaunted an extravagant lifestyle .

Is Lil Tay still alive?

The news outlet shared a screenshot of the email from Tsang .

In it, the former rapper's manager states that he has been in contact with people close to the family and that he "cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy" of the statement posted on Lil Tay's Instagram account announcing her and her brother's Jason Tian's death .

Tsang goes on to say that it is "imperative that we prioritize accuracy and empathy" while asking everyone to rely only on "reputable and official sources of information".

Are police investigating the case?

People on social media have started to question the veracity of the death announcement on her official Instagram account .

Reports also state that police in both Los Angeles and Vancouver (where the family is from) don't have any knowledge of the siblings' death and they are not doing any investigation regarding the siblings.

To add even more mystery to the case, an unverified account on Instagram posted a message claiming to come from Lil Tay's brother .

In the message, they say that they were subjected to abuse by their parents who wanted them "gone off the internet" and that they were spreading misinformation about their death.
