France no-confidence motion: Parliament votes against prime minister Barnier

France's Parliament has successfully passed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Michel Barnier. Of the 574 members in the National Assembly, 331 voted in favor of his removal. The motion was introduced following the prime minister’s controversial decision to bypass parliamentary approval to enforce an austerity budget, sparking opposition from both the Left and the Far-Right. This marks the first time a government in France has been ousted through such a measure since 1962.
